Trek Baden has moved out of the inner-city apartment complex and into a brand new home in Missouri City, Texas - a suburb of Houston. Convinced that she will finally meet "better" people in the suburbs, Trek befriends Rhodee, a 14-year-old who is dating a 20-year-old man, and who loves to skip school, smoke weed, etc. But Rhodee is carrying a secret: her dad's best friend is molesting her and paying her to keep quiet.
