We started the school year not having a
Journalism teacher. As
time for electives rolled around, we all wondered who it would be,
was it a man or a woman, were they mean or nice.
We were clueless. Time passed and then it came time to
start elective classes.
I remember the first time Mrs. Rhone came to
our school. She went
to each classroom, introduced herself and prepared us for the
upcoming semester. I could tell I liked her as soon as she opened her mouth.
She had such a strong voice and her words were inspiring.
She was a real, live author with a God-given talent, which
is something I look up to. She
is the type of person who is real to herself and everything around
her.
Mrs. Rhone is a real treasure to this school,
whether she knows it or not.
She has taught us and she has taught us well.
She has taught us how to write in different styles to
express ourselves freely. She
has also taught us our First Amendment rights, which honestly none
of us cared to learn, but now we know them by heart.
She will truly be a person that will have an
impact on my life as well as others.
She is my role model.
I want to thank her for all the time she spends with us.
I have always wanted to be a writer, but
never thought I was good enough.
Once I found out how Mrs. Rhone reached her goals, and how
she never gave up no matter what, it gave me the ambition to
follow my dearest dream of being a writer as well.
